For more information, call Randy Nicholson, Director, Jefferson Parish Streets Department, at (504) 349-5805.

FEMA and Jefferson Parish have agreed to a tentative settlement of a dispute over funding of repairs for roads flooded during Hurricane Katrina.

The announcement is a result of positive cooperation among all parties leading up to an arbitration hearing which had been scheduled to begin on February 16, 2010 in Washington, D.C.  The agreement allows Jefferson Parish to spend up to $100,000,000 to make repairs to streets and roads in unincorporated Jefferson Parish that flooded during Katrina.

Jefferson Parish officials applaud the continued efforts that FEMA has put forth to aid our community in the aftermath of Katrina.  This latest effort will repair roadways that were damaged during Katrina’s massive flooding.
